Sales and marketing has long been a topic considered by many programmers as complete voodoo. Run by slick haired smooth talkers that use mental tricks to trick you out of your hard earned cash. Not so anymore! Sales and marketing is every business person’s problem, and programmers and creative types in this modern business world need to at least understand the basic concepts behind how it works.

I guess I’m one of the odd ones, having a foot in both camps. I’ve long been a programmer, but I’ve also spent time as a professional sales person. Both topics are quite close to my heart, which is why I can see the connection between code and customers.
