Some of you might have noticed that I’ve setup a newsletter list on Code My Own Road. Go ahead and try it out over there on the right, chuck your email in and I’ll send you a free copy of my eBook on how to lower your website’s bounce rates.

You know the beautiful thing about my newsletter – I mean, besides the killer content.. heh heh – is the fact that I pay absolutely nothing. $0. Bubka. Nudda.. nothing. Ain’t that sweet?

I’ve got autoresponders, sofisticated campaign management, html or plain text, test email capabilities, multiple list management, abilities to setup and send to sublists and parts of lists, ridiculous amounts of statistics, loads of preconfigured html email templates to match any kind of email you want to send, and if that’s not good enough I can customize everything about my emails and make them super personalised.

This place even tells you what makes a good headline and how you can get the most out of your email campaigns.

So how the hell did I get all that stuff when AWeber starts at $19 a month?

The Best Mailing Platform You’ll Find For Nothing

I’m giving these guys a pretty big plug and it’s for good reason. They’re offering a spanking good service which none of the paid services can touch.

Before I tell you their name I’ll tell you how they make money…

Their base service, “The Forever Free Plan”, is a free account where you get up to 500 subscribers and 3000 email sends per month. Beyond that, you enter their premium services which are still quite competitively priced, just slightly less than comparable plans from AWeber, the most popular competitor.

The next plan up is $15 a month and supports 501-1000 subscribers and unlimited sends. The next highest plan 1001-2,500 subscribers (still unlimited sends) is $30 per month, and so on all the way up to 25,000-50,000 subscribers at $240 per month.

The company is MailChimp and I’m their next biggest fan.

If you don’t shop around for your web services then you can really miss out on some great bargains, and some of these services that start with a freebie are really quite good.

MailChimp for example is a full professional grade mailing service comparable to the best out there.

Their pricing plans are also reasonable and well structured so that when you do need to move up to a paid plan then you’re still getting a great deal.

Conclusion

As well as a bit of a free plug for MailChimp, this post has another point.

When you’re in bootstrapping mode like I am, every dollar counts and if you can find a service like this for a great price (free) that offers long term expansion then you should seriously look at it instead of just, you know, doing what everyone else is doing.

Now, go sign up for my newsletter, dammit! ;)
