Back Woes, Book Reviews, and Tuantuan Sleeping Bags

I’m having the day off from my day job today, with an injured back I can’t really be sitting down in my office chair for too long. I’m not sure how I did it, but I managed to pull a muscle in my back.

Anyway, it’s already been 20 minutes of checking emails so I’ll be brief before I have to trek it back to the loungeroom and lie on the floor consuming DVDs at an alarming rate.

I got an email from my buddy Dave over at Website In A Weekend who’s just done a really funky new make over of his site. ‘Bout time Dave, it looks fantastic mate.

He also kindly pointed out that the image of my head on my sales page for my first eBook was being squashed ridiculously. I looked like a pancake. Fixed up that rogue CSS pretty quick smart, s/width: 33%/width: auto/

I got word today from Tony Hsieh’s camp that they are sending me a review copy of their new book Delivering Happiness. Tony is the CEO of Zappos, so that should definitely be an interesting read. Look out for my review assuming the book doesn’t get lost in the post coming out to Australia!

And to make things really real, I also got word from Vistaprint who said my business cards are on the way. A few people have been asking for cards recently when I tell them I’m into web design so I decided to get 250 printed up. I got a pretty good deal so I pulled the trigger.

I’ll post a photo of the cards when they arrive, should be soon.

Kinda makes the whole running a side business feel a lot more alive having something I can show people and hand over. Can’t wait to see them.

I’ve also recently found motivation to attack a dying project. It wasn’t quite ready to die yet and inspiration struck the other day like a bolt of lightning. I’m not going to mention it in case I jinx it.
